With Pigeon Mountain to the west and history on every downtown corner, LaFayette homes and businesses rely on Cool Mountain Air for honest, owner-led HVAC service.
LaFayette was founded in 1835 as the seat of Walker County and renamed the next year for the Marquis de Lafayette. Its downtown holds John B. Gordon Hall, an 1836 academy building where Confederate General Braxton Bragg planned the Battle of Chickamauga, and the town saw its own fighting in the Battle of LaFayette in 1864. To the west, Pigeon Mountain rises from the Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area. Cool Mountain Air serves LaFayette from our base in Adairsville, bringing family-owned service that dates to 1991.
Walker County winters run colder than much of Georgia, especially in the valleys below Pigeon and Lookout mountains. That makes heating the priority for many LaFayette homeowners. We repair and install heat pumps with properly working backup heat, along with gas furnaces whose gas connections we handle in-house. When summer turns humid, we keep air conditioners of every make running strong.
As the county seat and part of the Chattanooga metro area, LaFayette has a steady business community around the courthouse square and along U.S. 27, along with manufacturing and industrial buildings around town. Cool Mountain Air provides commercial HVAC repair, maintenance and replacement for offices, stores, restaurants, churches and plants, with direct access to the owner.
LaFayette's housing runs from older homes near downtown to newer subdivisions on the edges of town. Older houses often struggle with tired ductwork or rooms that were never ducted, and our ductless mini-splits and high-velocity systems solve that without major remodeling. Finding a contractor for high-velocity systems isn't easy, but LaFayette has one in Cool Mountain Air. For new homes, every Rheem installation starts with a load calculation.
Mike Swiger, the owner, answers your call. He diagnoses the real problem, explains it in plain English and gives an up-front price before work begins. Our technicians are licensed, background-checked and drug-free, we're a Rheem Authorized Dealer, and we offer 24/7 emergency service plus plumbing and gas line work. Call Mike at 706-331-0939.

Our customers keep pointing to the same things: honest answers, fair prices and work done right. Here's what a few of them have to say about Cool Mountain Air.
"Mike Swiger is an expert HVAC engineer. I hired him to install a smart thermostat but during installation, he found a completely different issue with my HVAC and fixed it for a very reasonable rate. It was scary because I had not even lived in this house for a month and was worried that I would have to get a whole new system. He's very knowledgeable and explains everything going on with the system and how he fixed it in a way that I could easily understand. I highly recommend Cool Mountain Air to anyone for their heating and cooling needs for their home."
