Canton has been Cherokee County's county seat since the 1830s. Cool Mountain Air serves its mill-era homes, new subdivisions and growing business districts.
Canton has been the seat of Cherokee County since the 1830s, when it was renamed after the Chinese city by residents who hoped to start a silk industry. Cotton turned out to be the real story: the Canton Cotton Mills made the town famous for its denim. The Etowah River runs through the middle of the city, Heritage Park anchors the Etowah River Greenway, and the Canton Theatre still draws crowds downtown. Cool Mountain Air serves Canton from our base to the west in Adairsville.
Canton's housing tells its history. Mill-era homes and older houses near downtown were built long before central air, and they often have no room for bulky ducts. A high-velocity small-duct system threads through existing walls and ceilings with little disruption, and few HVAC contractors work on them. High-velocity systems take specialized know-how, and we bring it to Canton homes. On the other end, newer neighborhoods along I-575 need properly sized Rheem equipment.
As the county seat, Canton is full of offices, government buildings, churches and shops, and the retail along Riverstone Boulevard and at Canton Marketplace keeps adding more. We provide commercial HVAC repair, maintenance and replacement for these buildings, and business owners get a direct line to Mike.
The Etowah valley keeps summers humid and heavy, and cold air settles in on clear winter nights. That's a lot to ask of one system. Heat pumps need dependable backup heat, furnaces need clean burners and safe gas connections, and air conditioners need clean coils to keep up. Regular seasonal maintenance keeps all of it running.
Cool Mountain Air is family-owned and has served Northwest Georgia since 1991. Mike gives you an honest diagnosis and an up-front price before any work, and our licensed, background-checked, drug-free technicians repair all makes and models. We specialize in solving the difficult problems, offer 24/7 emergency service and handle water heaters, drains and gas lines. Call Mike at 706-331-0939.

Our customers keep pointing to the same things: honest answers, fair prices and work done right. Here's what a few of them have to say about Cool Mountain Air.
"Mike Swiger is an expert HVAC engineer. I hired him to install a smart thermostat but during installation, he found a completely different issue with my HVAC and fixed it for a very reasonable rate. It was scary because I had not even lived in this house for a month and was worried that I would have to get a whole new system. He's very knowledgeable and explains everything going on with the system and how he fixed it in a way that I could easily understand. I highly recommend Cool Mountain Air to anyone for their heating and cooling needs for their home."
