Shannon's mill village homes have stood since the 1920s. Cool Mountain Air helps them, and the newer houses around them, stay comfortable in every season.
Shannon's story runs from a pioneer settlement called Ridge Valley in the 1830s, to a railroad stop officially renamed Shannon in 1891, to the Brighton Mills plant that opened in 1926 to make tire cord fabric. The mill built rows of worker cottages along with a ballpark and swimming pool, and although it closed in 2004, those mill village houses still give this unincorporated community its look. Today Shannon sits just off Highway 53 in northeastern Floyd County, between Rome and Calhoun. Cool Mountain Air serves Shannon from our base in Adairsville, family-owned since 1991.
Mill cottages built in the 1920s were never designed for central air, and adding full-size ducts can mean tearing into walls and ceilings. Ductless mini-splits solve that neatly, heating and cooling room by room with only a small line set through the wall, while our high-velocity systems deliver whole-house comfort through small, flexible ducts. Mike Swiger, the owner, will look at your house, lay out the choices in plain English and give you an up-front price.
Older homes also lose conditioned air through gaps and thin insulation, and that shows up on the power bill during long, humid summers and sudden winter cold snaps. An energy audit and load calculation show what your home really needs before you spend a dime. Our licensed, background-checked and drug-free technicians repair all makes, install Rheem equipment and answer emergency calls 24/7. Call Mike at 706-331-0939 for heating and air in Shannon.

"Mike Swiger is an expert HVAC engineer. I hired him to install a smart thermostat but during installation, he found a completely different issue with my HVAC and fixed it for a very reasonable rate. It was scary because I had not even lived in this house for a month and was worried that I would have to get a whole new system. He's very knowledgeable and explains everything going on with the system and how he fixed it in a way that I could easily understand. I highly recommend Cool Mountain Air to anyone for their heating and cooling needs for their home."
