From historic homes near Broad Street to newer neighborhoods across Floyd County, Cool Mountain Air brings honest, family-owned heating and cooling service to Rome.
Rome was built where the Etowah and Oostanaula rivers meet to form the Coosa, and the county seat of Floyd County has been the hub of Northwest Georgia ever since. Known as the City of Seven Hills, it's home to Berry College and Shorter University, the landmark Clocktower and the shops and restaurants along Broad Street. Its homes range from historic houses in the older neighborhoods around downtown to newer subdivisions spreading out across the county. Cool Mountain Air serves Rome from our home base just to the east in Adairsville, bringing family-owned heating and cooling service to the city since 1991.
Rome's historic homes are beautiful, but they're often a challenge for heating and cooling. Plaster walls, finished ceilings and limited attic or crawl space can make standard ductwork impractical. That's exactly where our high-velocity small-duct systems come in. Few HVAC contractors work on them, and Cool Mountain Air is one of them. We also install ductless mini-splits for additions, sunrooms and problem rooms.
As a regional center for healthcare, education and manufacturing, Rome depends on businesses that can't afford to lose their heat or air. We provide commercial HVAC repair, maintenance and replacement for offices, shops, restaurants and churches, and when you call, you reach Mike, the owner, not a dispatcher.
The river valleys around Rome bring hot, humid summers that keep air conditioners running for months, along with winter cold snaps that put furnaces and heat pumps to the test. That humidity is hard on comfort and equipment alike, so a correctly sized system, clean coils and good airflow matter. Every installation we do starts with a load calculation, and our Rheem systems up to 20 SEER are built to handle the Georgia climate efficiently.
Rome homeowners and businesses choose Cool Mountain Air for honest diagnosis, up-front pricing and work done right the first time. We repair all makes and models, offer 24/7 emergency service and handle plumbing and gas line work too. Call Mike at 706-331-0939 for heating and air service you can count on in Rome.

Our customers keep pointing to the same things: honest answers, fair prices and work done right. Here's what a few of them have to say about Cool Mountain Air.
"Mike Swiger is an expert HVAC engineer. I hired him to install a smart thermostat but during installation, he found a completely different issue with my HVAC and fixed it for a very reasonable rate. It was scary because I had not even lived in this house for a month and was worried that I would have to get a whole new system. He's very knowledgeable and explains everything going on with the system and how he fixed it in a way that I could easily understand. I highly recommend Cool Mountain Air to anyone for their heating and cooling needs for their home."
